Yusuf Ali-led billionaire Yussuf is known for its vast business interests across the globe. After a long history of being a strong presence in the south, the company is now moving into northern India with one the largest supermarkets Uttar Pradesh.

Abu Dhabi-based Group operates popular supermarkets in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. The company’s expansive operations will begin Monday. Lucknow will be available to the public.

In 1973, he left the country to go to Abu Dhabi and join the EMKE Group. . Lulu Hypermarket, which he founded in 2000, has 22 locations in Asia, America, Europe, and the Middle East. It currently has 235 retail shops.

The retail division of LuLu Hypermarket is known for being a leader in the regional retail market. It is home to over 200 stores and is a popular choice for shoppers from the GCC and other countries such as India, Indonesia, Egypt, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Lulu Group, which owns five-star luxury properties and large convention centres as well as travel consulting services, is also active in the hospitality sector. .

LuLu Group India is the Indian subsidiary of the company. It has expanded its operations in hypermarkets and shopping malls as well as food processing units, ecommerce, fun stations, and food processing units.

Last year, LuLu Group International’s brand-retail unit Tablez launched “House of Toys”, India’s first international kids’ superstore at Bengaluru.

It is also expanding ‘GO Sport,’ which is a one stop shop for organised sport with multiple power brands as well as private labels.

Tablez has a variety of interests in fashion, speciality shopping, and food and drinks in India and GCC. It is planning to open over 100 stores across India by 2022.

According to the website, the group has operational bases in the UAE, Oman and Qatar.

Yusuff Ali is the chairman, managing director, and chief executive officer of LuLu International Shopping Mall Kochi (Kerala) and LuLu International Convention Center Thrissur (Kerala). He also serves as Vice-Chairman of Non-Resident Keralites Affairs Department(NORKA ROOTS), Government of Kerala.

He is also a former member, 2008-2014, of India’s Prime Minister’s Global Advisory Council.
