Ripudaman Sikh Malik, a Canadian-based leader and businessman, has been shot to death in Surrey (B.C.).

Ripudaman Sikh Malik, a Canadian-based leader and businessman, was acquitted of the 1985 Air India Bombing. His family stated that he was shot dead in Surrey.
According to the Global News report, the RCMP was notified by a call about gunfire in Surrey B.C. Thursday, at 9.30 a.m.
Police arrived on the spot and found a man with several gunshot wounds.
Const. released a press release stating that the officers provided first aid for the injured man, and then Emergency Health Services overtook. Global News cited Sarbjit Sangha.
“The injured man succumbed to his injuries on scene,” the release further said.
Meanwhile, Malik had earlier been in the spotlight in January 2022 when he had written a letter praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanking him for his ‘services to the Sikh community’, especially for the opening of the Kartarpur corridor, assuring justice was served in cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, and more.
In January, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had shared the letter written by Malik on his Twitter handle and had thanked him for having ‘dared to voice Sikh sentiments’.
