Officials said that an Indo-Tibetan Border Police jawan (ITBP), shot and wounded his three colleagues and then killed himself in Jammu Kashmir’s Udhampur. An investigation has been launched by the court.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at Devika Ghat Community Centre in the district.
This is second major fratricide incident in J&K in last 24 hours. Two Army jawans died and two were hurt in a Poonch fratricide.
Constable Bhupendra Sing shot at his colleagues, causing bullet injuries to two constables and a head constable. A senior ITBP officer was quoted by PTI as saying.
Officer added that the injured were admitted to hospital and are now out of danger.
The constable was part of the 8th battalion and was currently assigned to the ‘F” company of the ITBP, which is currently deployed in Jammu & Kashmir to perform security duties.
