JERUSALEM – John Kirby of the White House stated that Jake Sullivan, National Security Adviser for the United States, made a mistake when he said to reporters Wednesday that the United States desired a Palestinian consulate in East Jerusalem.
Kirby stated that there is no change in US consulate policy.
The United States would like to reopen the consulate in Jerusalem for Palestinians. It is located in Jerusalem’s west, and was closed by Donald Trump in 2019.
