On the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death, royal enthusiasts have paid tribute to her by placing flowers and inscriptions in Paris and London.
Lady Diana’s blooms and photographs graced the gold-leaf-covered Flame of Liberty in Paris, which has become her unofficial memorial.

Tributes were also left outside Kensington Palace in London, where “the people’s princess” used to live.
“It feels like yesterday instead of 25 years,” Jane Crook, who was paying tribute to the princess, remarked.
It takes you right back to those times.
Her Mercedes, pursued by paparazzi, crashed into a concrete pillar in the Alma Tunnel in Paris on August 31, 1997, while travelling at more than 100kph.
All three victims were killed: the princess, her boyfriend Dodi Fayed, and their driver Henri Paul.
Morgan Hindle, who was present, told Reuters that the princess was an icon.

I believe she meant a lot to a lot of people… “I believe she is someone who should be remembered forever,” she said.
Her passing triggered an unexpected outpouring of mourning in the United Kingdom and around the world.
Over a million people lined the streets of London for her funeral procession, and it is believed that approximately 2 billion people watched the funeral live on television throughout the world.
Prince Harry said last week at a charity event that he would remember his mother’s death with love on the 25th anniversary of her death.

I want it to be a day full with recollections of her tremendous job and appreciation for how she achieved it, he said.
I want it to be a day when I can share my mother’s spirit with my family, with my children, who I wish could have met her.
Prince William earlier stated that his mother’s death caused him to “experience pain like no other pain.”
It’s going to be really difficult to find something that’s even worse than that,” he remarked.
