According to DownDetector.com, users from all around the world are experiencing outages on the Google search engine.
Around 9.20 p.m. ET, more than 40,000 Americans complained that Google was unavailable to them, though the number has since decreased.
Google, which is owned by Alphabet, has also been criticised by users in Singapore, Australia, and the UK.
Google did not answer right away when CNBC asked for comment.
Using the hashtag #GoogleDown, numerous individuals briefly made Google the trending topic on Twitter.
Some people joked about trying to look on Google to see if the search engine was down.
